Lebanon Sets a New Guinness World Record With the World’s Longest Christmas Carol

    01 february 2026

Lebanon has officially etched its name into the Guinness World Records by achieving the longest nonstop Christmas carol recital, a remarkable celebration of faith, unity, and festive spirit.

From December 16 to 23, a continuous 170-hour rendition of Emmanuel echoed through the halls of Sacred Hearts School in Kfardebian. The extraordinary initiative was organized by Sandra Akiki and brought together voices from across the country in a powerful display of collective dedication.

Throughout the entire seven-day recital, strict Guinness World Records requirements were meticulously met. A minimum of 12 participants remained present at all times, each performance lasted at least two minutes, and transitions between pieces never exceeded 20 seconds. The singing continued uninterrupted, day and night, without a single break.

The event welcomed soloists, choirs, professional artists, and members of the public, all united by the joy of singing Christmas hymns. More than a record-breaking achievement, the recital became a symbol of Lebanon’s resilience, harmony, and enduring love for music and tradition.
