Lebanon is preparing to enter a new era of connectivity as 5G services are expected to launch within days, bringing faster mobile internet and a more advanced digital experience.
The rollout will begin with the installation of 150 5G transmission sites across the Alta and touch networks as part of a nationwide three-year modernization plan. The first shipment, consisting of 50 transmission stations, has already arrived and installation is underway.
Backed by an investment of approximately $1 million, the project aims to upgrade Lebanon’s telecommunications infrastructure, improve network reliability, deliver significantly higher internet speeds, and pave the way for future digital innovations.
During the first phase, an estimated 20% to 25% of mobile users will have access to 5G services. Coverage will then expand gradually, with the goal of reaching nearly 70% of the country’s population over the next few years.
