Angelina Jolie will receive an Oscar for her humanitarian work at the Governor's Awards Ceremony in November. The actress will receive the honorary Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Jolie, who was appointed as a special envoy to the United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees in 2012, has also travelled widely to promote other causes such as preventing violence against women, the academy's board said in an announcement.
