An In Touch story published today claimed that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx took their friendship to the next level, reporting that the pals "have been dating for a while," but the actor quickly set the record straight, telling Entertainment Tonight that there's nothing going on with him and Suri Cruise's mama.

But the 45-year-old actor shot down the gossip on Tuesday, saying that the allegation was both 'hilarious' and 'one hundred percent not true'.

A Holmes pal told Us Weekly at the time that the two "weren't flirting and have been friends a long time." But Foxx may have wanted more. One eyewitness said the actor "grabbed her butt and tried to seal the deal" after a dance -- to no avail.
