Kiki C, a rapper x-model of Lebanese origin, had given us the pleasure to exclusively interview her after her performance in NRJ tour this year. Kiki C has released her first single not so long ago and it has been playing on our radios prior to the tour in months; The Meditarranean. Kiki C currently lives in Australia, she started out as a model; however, has always been passionate about music. "Music is my life, I can't drive a car without my music, it makes the world goes around and makes you a happy person. I am a poet, writing poetry since I was a child and rapping since then."
She added; "Through "The Mediterranean" I wanted to somehow make a track which introduces lebanon to the world, the lifestyle, the nightlife, and the spirit of the Lebanese. It shocks you to know that the Lebanese outisde Lebanon know nothing about it, if you ever ask them to visit Lebanon, they'd go like what are we going to do there! The song will show people, whether lebanese or not, a glimpse of the Lebanese beauty, hoping to attract them to this lovely country.
When asked about her origin, she replied; "I am extremely proud of my origin, especially my village. But my parents left Lebanon during the war. When you leave your country you get further attached to your roots. People look after you in Lebanon; I have travelled the world but I have never seen what I've seen here. People here work to live whereas in other countries, you live to work. That's the spirit of the Lebanese. And even if you have lived outside since your birth, and even if you look like you belong, they will always consider you as an outsider, whereas in Lebanon, you have identity."
We tried to get to know her future plans, she said; "I have few more songs coming soon and hopefully we will expect an album. This was my first performance in Lebanon and the biggest one of the year. Surely, I hope it won't be the last because I can't seem to travel back, I am still here even after the tour has finished!"
Any final words to Beiruting; " The tour was amazing. The Lebanese are the best crowd in the world. The crowds were nuts, thousands out there. We had wissam hilal and Massari, Lebanese artists from outside so it gave this essence for the night, and people kind of like it. I love all the fans, and thank them for all the support they have shown. I hope they will always enjoy my music."
Kiki C was wearing Nicola Gebran designs in the tour and they are reflected in the pictures. She is born and raised in Australia, but speaks fluent arabic and is amazingly attached to her origins. She also has a shoe business; it's funny how she makes smooth comments about your shoes whenever she meets you. We would like to thank Kiki C for her humility and kind heart, the way she welcomed us and the way she assisted us all through the interview. All the best Kiki for all your future endeavors...
