Thailand’s Wat Rong Khun also known as the White Temple is one of the most amazing structures in the entire world. The outside of the temple is painted white to symbolize purity. A bridge over a moat filled with out-reaching arms that represent desire once took visitors inside, but because of the extensive damage caused by an earthquake in May 2014, no one is able to enter at this time.
What makes this temple so unusual is the the interior. It contains bizarre contemporary scenes and icons of pop culture including Superman, Batman, and Neo for the movie The Matrix.
The temple was built in 1997 by Chalerchai Kositpipat. It was scheduled for demolition, but Kositpipat has devoted his life to rebuild it. Just look at the images below for a better understanding of how beautiful this place really is.
