The fashion world has lost one of its best designers!
R.I.P Lebanese Designer Basil Soda who passed away at the age of 47, after a battle with cancer.
"BASIL SODA began his journey as a Couturier in the year 2000, establishing his fashion house and quickly gaining international recognition. His unique expertise in design has allowed him to master the perfect cut and fit. From his new Headquarters in Beirut, Basil Soda talks openly of his love of architecture; a favorite subject and constant source of inspiration, from which he has borrowed fine-cut lines, a unity of pace and purity of volume. An aesthetic based on the juxtaposition of two extremes; strength and fragility. Always playing on the duality of a woman; hopelessly romantic yet mysteriously dark.
The red carpet has created a great outlet to showcase BASIL SODA's work to a greater audience. International Celebrities like Katy Perry, Emily Blunt, Marion Cotillard, Jiang Yiyan, Morena Baccarrin, Guiliana Rancic, all adorned in Basil Soda creations.
Alongside his Couture line, his Ready-to-Wear collection was launched in 2010, opening doors for a new market to acknowledge the Basil Soda aesthetic. With time it has gained international recognition and perseverance, providing women the ultimate Couture touch in a more accessible way. BASIL SODA RTW can be found in cities all over the world, from New York, Washington, Cannes, Toronto, Vienna, Moscow, Dubai, Beirut, all the way to Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Basil Soda believes in providing a certain fantasy for each woman as an escape from the reality of everyday life. Constructing each silhouette directly on the mannequin, to achieve a unique touch for each and every dress. He feels at home watching over every single creation being pieced together making sure each garment gets the right amount of attention...Perfectionism is an art.
