Everybody Loves Raymond child star Sawyer Sweeten has passed away aged 19.

Sawyer took his own life by shooting himself on the front porch of his family home in Texas on Thursday morning, according to multiple US reports.

His older sister Madylin, who also appeared on the show, confirmed the sad news in a statement: "This morning a terrible tragedy occurred. We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday.

"At this sensitive time we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."
