the Arab entertainment industry wants a piece of the "Godfother" too. One production company is now producing their own version of the hit novel, and they've picked an unlikely suspect to star in it!

Lebanese superstar Assi Helani can easily embody an Italian mafia man (he's bad-ass that way), which is why he's signed up to play a leading role in The Godfather: The TV Series. It's not yet known which character Assi will be playing, but we're thinking he will sure be one of the Corleone brothers!

The Arabic version is being directed by Muthanna Subuh, while the modified script was written by scenarist Hazem Suleiman. Filming kicked off in March 2015 and is being shot between Lebanon, Syria and the UAE.
