Kim Kardashian breaks down in tears when she discusses her mum Kris Jenner's struggle to come to terms with Bruce's decision to become a woman.

In a clip from tonight's two-part KUWTK special About Bruce, which will see the former Olympian reveal his plans for a sex change to his family, Kim struggles to contain her emotions as she gushes about Kris.

The clip, which was shown on NBC's Today this morning, sees the reality star open up to sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and says they should be there for Kris.

"He's [Bruce] going to tell his first story," Kim says. "At first I was like, 'I'm totally going to cry! I'm totally going to cry!' My throat was literally burning."
