Slow internet is truly annoying, like traffic or taxes. And while the speed of internet is somehow unavoidable, it is still very satisfying to nag about.
Internet speed is influenced by numerous factors – individual routers, ISP firewalls, upload speed, download speed – therefore, we sought to look only at download speeds as it is quite impossible to combine and rank all the mentioned separate aspects.
Below is rank of download speeds in Middle Eastern countries, according to Net Index, in October 2014. No data was made available for Bahrain, Yemen or Palestine, so they are not included in the list.
Starting with relatively the fastest downloading speed with the UAE taking the number one spot, the list goes through several other countries that take up higher numbers indicating slower speeds.
