Jbeil-Byblos won the selection of the 2016 Arab Tourism Capital granted by the Arab Council of Tourism and crowned as the best touristic city in Arab states for 2016.
Jbeil is considered the second oldest inhabited city of the world after the Palestinian city of Jericho, and has been continuously inhabited since 5000 BC.
In 2013, Jbeil was chosen by the World Tourism Organization as the best Arab Tourist City.
