So it has been confirmed, a new 50 shades of grey book is on its way. It's been more than three years since the last 'Fifty Shades' book was released, but fans have been hoping to get more of Christian Grey.
Author EL James posted on Instagram on June 1st to confirm the news that she's written a new Fifty Shades of Gray (FSOG) novel.
Since the publication of the first 'Fifty Shades' book in 2011, fans have written to EL James (real name Erika James) asking and begging her to write the book from Christian's perspective.
"This book is dedicated to those readers who asked...and asked... and asked... and asked for this," El James writes.
She adds that readers have long been interested in the 'complex' character of Mr. Christian Grey.
"Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past," said James in a statement about the new book.
"Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story.
"It's been a great pleasure to return to my happy place - writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic publishing teams in the US and the UK."
The book which will be entitled 'Grey', will be written from Christian's point of view and will be released on June 18th 2015 - his birthday.
The content of the book is still not known; whether 'Grey' will include his perspective about the first book, 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' or all three books, including the latter 'Fifty Shades Darker' and 'Fifty Shades Freed.'
The film version of 'Fifty Shades Darker' will be released in 2017.
