A mother has sparked outrage on social media after posting pictures of her toddler apparently drinking a bottle of cider and smoking drugs.

In distressing images which have shocked the world the young boy, thought to be from Argentina, can be seen looking visibly upset as a woman appears to pour a bottle of cider down his throat.

She posted the picture on Facebook in January with a caption saying 'look how he drinks' and left the image there for several weeks.
