Doctor Zhivago star Omar Sharif was laid to rest today in a packed-out Egyptian funeral.

The Lawrence of Arabia actor passed away aged 83 after suffering a heart attack, and tributes have continued to flood in for the legendary star.

his close family and friends, along with stars, joined to say a final farewell at the grand mosque of Mushir Tantawi in Cairo.

According to reports, he will later be buried at El Sayeda Nafisa cemetery in the south of the city.
