On October 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., was held in Paris the opening of the art exhibition "Dream, Earth, and Fire" of Lebanese painter Joumana Haswany. Organized by PR and Events agency "Noise SARL", the exhibition was open to the public since last Thursday, and is expected to last till Saturday, November 14, 2015.
This exhibition is the first to be held in Paris of the artist Joumana Haswany, which further endorses her international standing.
The exhibition has been inaugurated and will continue to be held at the prestigious Parisian "Art Dalia Gallery". The event was marked by the presence of eminent French and Lebanese figures, headed by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in France, Mr. Ghadi Khoury, the prominent international French Haute Couture Designer, Mr. Nabil Hayari, and the CEO of Hayari Paris, Mr. Hugues Alard, alongside a number of distinguished guests including patrons, art enthusiasts, journalists, diplomats, French businessmen, as well as numerous members of the Lebanese community in Paris.
It is important to note that the exhibition, placed under the art direction of Clarisse Kachkemanian, was jointly held with sculptor Merry Kerpitchian, hence the exhibition's subtitle, "fourhanded between painting and sculpture."
Self-taught, Joumana Haswany (www.joumanahaswany.com) was swept away without prior notice by the passion for painting, a noble art that allows her to express her deepest emotions. She held several exhibitions in Lebanon, notably at Deir el-Kalaa and at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in 2014, followed by an exhibition at the most prestigious gallery in Barbizon, France, "Besharat Gallery".
As to the title of the exhibition, "Dream, Earth, and Fire," Joumana Haswany explains: "This is my way of understanding life. When the Dream stops, we cease to exist. In a country torn by wars and sorrows, a magical dream takes shape under the brush... The Earth represents the struggle, strength, and hard work. Like trees, firmly rooted in the earth to resist the wind. And all this requires fuel, Fire or passion... Passion in the conversation with my canvas, the love of my family, and the adoration of my Lebanon, for which I would offer the most beautiful trees of my creation. "
On the other hand, Merry Kerpitchian seeks to infuse life and emotion into her sculptures. The real gift is being able to concretize her dreams, which is made possible through the Earth, source of the clay from which Kerpitchian creates her work, and through the Fire, a vital phase that will give the Dream its eternal aspect.
It is worth noting that the prestigious Parisian gallery hosting this cultural event, "Art Dalia Gallery", was founded by Dalia Fayed and Philippe Gehin in December 2014, in the Parisian district Le Marais. Coming from a well-known Egyptian family, Dalia Fayed is a renowned painter who seeks to "give back to the world what life has given her", by donating the funds generated by her work to charitable causes. Also, all the artists whom she supports and exhibits, express the same humanitarian vision.
The opening was a great success, taking place amidst a very cordial atmosphere around a wine reception, giving the opportunity for numerous exchanges between visitors, all under the lenses of the French media.
