Corneliani, world leader in the high-end menswear, has always had a vocation for excellence. This can be seen even more clearly in its Made to Measure service, which combines supreme tailoring traditions with cutting-edge technology. Corneliani tailor Emanuele Federici was available by appointment on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30 at the Corneliani store in Downtown Beirut.
Indispensable quality is the guiding principle behind Corneliani's work. The same quality underpins every phase of the production process, particularly in Made to Measure garments. From selecting the world's finest materials to safeguarding stitching and finishing procedures and checking every last detail, each stage of production is subject to rigorous controls.By matching the expertise of the tailor with a sophisticated computerized system, Corneliani ensures that each garment is naturally perfect and personalized to suit even the most exacting, sophisticated customer. 150 different procedures, 548 hand stitches and 27 hand-crafted stages go into making a made-to-measure jacket.
Drawing on its legacy - passion and the very highest standards with a fresh, modern approach - it takes Corneliani three weeks to produce a suit, which really does make a difference. Made to Measure is not a collection but an exclusive service. Every single garment is made using the strictest criteria; technical performance bows to the hand-crafted skill of the tailor in a number of techniques which are still irreplaceable.
The pleasure of making a choiceAt Corneliani boutiques, corners and official sales points, customers are received in a special lounge by expert staff who guide them in their choices, offering them an exceptional range of fabrics and colors. There are over 100 superior, exclusive fabrics - from "210's" to cashmere and cashmere/silk mixes to the finest linens - in a selection of over 500 different patterns and colors.
Ordering a Corneliani Made to Measure suit is relatively simpleOnce the measurements have been taken, volumes and proportions are looked at - shoulders, chest, hips, sleeves, collar, body shape - and the customer's specific requests are taken into account: single- or double-breasted, with or without side or central vents.
Finally the details are decided on: length, waist, turn-ups for the trousers, type of lapels, sleeve buttonholes and buttons, stitching, and so on.Along with details of the fabric, this information is then sent to Corneliani's headquarters in Mantua, where work begins on making up the suit, ensuring that the enviably unique garment will fit the wearer perfectly.
This completes the work of artistic excellence that has made Corneliani famous the world over. Corneliani is always associated with a taste for beauty that is true to its values - tradition, quality and modernity - and epitomized by its historic motto: the continuity of the past in the present.
