We're all about our hood! In honor of Lebanese Independence Day, the Shake Shack teams from ABC Achrafieh and Beirut City Center (BCC) teamed up with Jouzour Loubnan to support a local tree planting initiative on November 25th. The initiative supported the restoration of the beautiful Lebanese Highlands wherein Shake Shack team members planted dozens of Cedar trees (the country's most cherished icon) throughout the Jezzine District in the South of Lebanon.
With this initiative, Shake Shack is thrilled to have celebrated Lebanese Independence Day in a special way with the local community alongside Jouzour Loubnan (an environmental organization committed to forestation campaigns to restore and protect Lebanese forests). The Shake Shack teams at ABC and BCC are honored to have played a role in such a significant and inspirational initiative.
Shake Shack's commitment to Stand For Something Good® stems from both ABC and BCC's support for their communities through various initiatives. Last year, the team worked with Tamanna, a non-profit organization that grants the wishes of children with critical illnesses, to support special dining wishes for local families. What's more, the teams regularly volunteer and support the local Red Cross organization through its community donor initiatives.
Stand For Something Good® initiatives start at the Shack. Both ABC and BCC Shacks are constructed with eco-friendly, sustainable materials, as well as LED lighting and energy-efficient kitchen equipment. Walls are clad in reclaimed snow fences, and booths are made from wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
