Three attackers are on the run after Algerian authorities foiled an attack they attempted to carry on the stage where where Rai Singer Cheb Khaled was performing in the northeastern city of Annaba.

The Annaba Theatre was targeted on Wednesday by the unidentified attackers, reported Al Arabiya.

Reports by the same source have said that three Algerian army units are currently chasing the runaways at the entrance of Annaba, 598 kilometers from the city of Algiers.

Meanwhile, a Russia Today report cited Algerian media sources as saying that the Army are yet to capture the attackers, despite having thwarted the attempted explosion.
