After leading Miss world charts for quite a time, Valérie Abou Chacra did not win the pageant. Instead, the crown was handed to Spanish Beauty Mireia Lalaguna Royo. Social Media Users have split between some who think the organisers have rigged the result, and some who believe that Miss Lebanon was more worthy of winning than Miss Spain.



The pageant has not been without controversy, giving that earlier in the competition, the Chinese government banned Miss Canada Anastasia Lin from entering the country, preventing her from appearing in the finals. Lin has said it was a retaliation by China because she has spoken about the country's human rights abuses.
