Before going on the plane, we hold on to our boarding passes and protect them well like our lives depend on them, because there is no way we are getting on board without them... until we are actually on board. Some of us become really careless and either throw the boarding pass away, or slip it in the seat pocket or even drop it somewhere on the plane.
Until watching this video, you would never had realized that carelessness with the boarding pass had the potential to land you in a ton of trouble giving that there is personal information frequently encrypted in the barcode. All that an unscrupulous person has to do is get a screen shot of the bar code on the boarding pass, and feed it into a bar code reader on "Inlite's" site which makes it is possible for the encrypted information on the bar code to reveal personal email addresses, home addresses and phone numbers included.
