Adele's 'Hello' Is the Fastest Video in History to Reach 1 Billion Plays.
YouTube announced Thursday that the clip reached one billion views in just 87 days. That snaps the old mark of 158 days, set by South Korean rapper PSY's "Gangnam Style" a few years ago.
As of Friday 22nd of January, the video had racked up over 1.021 billion views, and climbing.
Seventeen videos in all have reached one billion views on YouTube, the site notes, including "Sugar" by pop/rock band Maroon 5, "Love The Way You Lie" by rapper Eminem, and "Chandelier," by singer Sia.
"Gangnam Style" remains the most-watched YouTube video to date, with more than 2.5 billion views.
