ABBA members reunite at opening of Mamma Mia themed restaurant in Sweden

    29 january 2016
All four members of the 1970s pop group ABBA have reunited in Stockholm, but sadly for fans it was not to perform.

The group came together with their partners for the opening a new restaurant in the Swedish capital based on the Greek taverna that featured in the Mamma Mia! movie and musical.

The brainchild of former ABBA member Bjorn Ulvaeus, the opening was also attended by Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and Agnetha Faltskog.

Questioned by reporters at the opening, Andersson said he did not think the four ABBA members would be back together on stage again.

"We are here to party," said his co-composer Bjorn Ulvaeus.

While ABBA disbanded in 1982, their music has remained popular through films such as Muriel's Wedding and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.

All four members of the famous pop quartet, who were once two married couples, attended the 2008 premiere of the Mamma Mia film, but they were never photographed as a group.
