Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney reminisced about his life, love and luck over the years, and gushed about his wife lawyer Amal once again.
The 54-year-old actor told news.com.au that "Time is more precious the older we get. I find that the time spent with my wife, my friends and the people I love, particularly my mum and dad who are still very healthy, I'm very lucky that I've learned over the years to appreciate all of that. I have a good sense of what a career is, how it works and how much luck plays into it."
As for his highly intelligent and equally fashionable wife, Clooney said, "I met the woman I desperately wanted to marry and luck played into that too. I am very aware of how good it is when life is good and I try to celebrate that because I am very well aware of the times that life isn't so good."
"[Nobody] in their life or their career bounces from mountaintop to mountaintop," he continued. "You always have these rides, good and bad. I try to pay attention to that."
Being a superstar now has its perks, and George knows it.
"It's been a long time since I went to a hardware store and bought two by fours and some hammers," he said. "I do miss all of that but it's also not really very conducive to the way my life is."
However, staying grounded is key, according to Clooney. "The first step to being an idiot is thinking, 'Oh my God, I am a movie star!' And you've seen me in this movie, so clearly, all dignity has gone out the window," he said. "Some things are embarrassing but you do them anyway for the role."
