Baghdad had no idea back in 1950, that an Architecture Legend was born. In 2016 the whole world could not be sadder, that the greatest architect of her time, who was the first woman to earn "The Royal Insitute Of British Architects" Golden Medal, is no longer between us mortals.
These were enough words to devastate the world, after the Queen of Curves passed away on March 31st 2016: "It is with great sadness that Zaha Hadid Architects have confirmed that Dame Zaha Hadid, DBE died suddenly in Miami in the early hours of this morning. She had contracted bronchitis earlier this week and suffered a sudden heart attack while being treated in hospital."
Death has taken her too soon, way before she could fulfill all her dreams and projects, including the Aishti Store in Beirut Souks which Owner Toni Salameh is determined to finish it in her honor. She was meaning to visit Beirut soon, but the trip has remained a wish... the stones will miss you, and your beautiful university will never forget how hard you studied and how grateful you were towards it. The buildings that you've designed show how much of a talented, and creative person you were.
Farewell Dame Zaha, your name will forever be engraved in history as the greatest Architect of our time.
