For the 7th year in a row, colleagues from Gefinor Rotana and Raouché Arjaan by Rotana participate in the Beirut Marathon. Along with the hotels' general managers, around 60 colleagues from different departments - be it kitchen, housekeeping, front office, human resources, marketing, sales, engineering or fitness - ran on Sunday, November 13 for My School Pulse, to support education for children who undergo treatment for a life-threatening illness at hospitals. The race started at 9:00 AM and lasted till noon time, after which all the participating colleagues gathered at Gefinor Rotana for a delicious breakfast buffet, to share positive vibes and emotions after their participation in a great cause.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Joseph Coubat, Vice President for Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, Turkey, Congo and Syria and General Manager of Gefinor Rotana Beirut said: "I am very excited to be overlooking the first CSR activity Rotana Hotels Lebanon are contributing in since my appointment to Lebanon. And since this is a repeated activity for our hotels for the 7th year in a row, I am proud to have collaborated with another NGO in the cause of which our company strongly believes. This year, the company has taken a direction throughout the year in all of its properties in the region to support education and that is the main reason we partnered with My School Pulse."
On the same note, Mrs Monique Saikali, Event Manager of My School Pulse said: "We at My School Pulse are very happy and grateful to have Rotana Hotels Lebanon running the Beirut Marathon for us this year, and to raise awareness and funds to our cause. We were there every step of the way encouraging the running team. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the schooling of sick children." My School Pulse's goal is to help sick children pursue their education uninterrupted, keep up with their peers and attain the next school level. It helps children reintegrate into regular school programs, as smoothly as possible, when they recover. It also helps minimize children's feelings of exclusion from normal life while fighting their illness and improve their well-being during their medical stay.
The day has ended on an exciting note where everyone was happy to participate in such a good cause, running for education, giving hope to those who thought have lost it, and looking forward to the next year's marathon with a new cause to run for!
