Ariana Grande just shared the secret to her luscious long hair and it costs under $10

    26 october 2017

You don't have to be a fan of Ariana Grande to know that her go-to hairstyle is a sky-high ponytail. In fact, for years, the singer's signature hairstyle has been a result of the red hair she maintained for her role as Cat on Victorious - where the constant bleach and maintenance surrounding the bright red hue completely destroyed her hair.

Fed up with the constant attention surrounding her hairstyle, the 24-year-old took to Facebook in 2014 to explain her situation to everyone.

"I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat... as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair," Ariana wrote. "My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down."

Fast forward a couple years and it seems that Ariana doesn't have to combat her damaged hair anymore.

Although she hasn't ditched her famous ponytail all together, the singer had us all SHOOK when she posted a rare photo to her Instagram back in April of her hair down - and unsurprisingly, she looked ~flawless~.

Since then, Ariana hasn't shied away from showing off her luscious long locks (she recently debuted grey Daenerys Targaryen-like hair) - and if you're anything like us, you'll want to know exactly how she transformed her damaged hair into THAT!

Well, Ariana recently spoke to Allure about how she manages to maintain her long locks when they're not tied up in her signature style, where she explained her love for coconut oil.

"Coconut oil just goes with everything," she said.

This kitchen essential and celebrity favourite isn't the only product she relies on to treat her newly dyed silver hair, though. The singer also uses Lavender essential oil to stimulate hair growth.

"I love putting Lavender on my head," she said.

Although lavender is proven to soothe scalp itches and promote hair growth, we're not recommending you bathe your hair in it - it can only give you these benefits when applied safely and in moderation.

However, if Ariana's hair is anything to go by lately, we're thinking she may be onto something.
